Citrus fruits evolved more or less 20 million years ago in Southeast Asia.  It is said that the mandarin orange owes its name to the robes worn by dignitaries in ancient China.  The mandarin probably arrived in South America with the Spanish Conquistadors.

The mandarin, with its juicy segments, pleasant aroma and deep orange color is one of the most refreshing fruits.

Mandarin juice is sour and sweet at the same time.  It can be added to other juices and will be a good base for cocktails.

Mandarin oranges are an important source of vitamin C, and also contain citric acid, which acts as a disinfectant. The fruit contains fiber, mainly in the white skin, which separates the pulp from the outer skin.  It also contains folic acid, which generates and reinforces our immune system.

Mandarin oranges are available as:

· Natural fruit pulp (frozen)
• Powdered fruit
